Wearing jeans and a white shirt a maternity photoshoot has become a very popular look this year at our Boston Maternity Photography Studio.
Looking for a maternity photoshoot look that’s casual, confident, and iconic? A pair of jeans can be the perfect base for a simple yet powerful outfit that puts the focus on your beautiful bump and personal style.
Keep it simple: A clean, minimal outfit lets your bump—and the emotion behind the session—take center stage.
Popular pairings include:
A white dress shirt from your husband’s closet adds a wonderful personal touch if the sizing is right. If you do not have the right size or style shirt, my studio wardrobe includes white dress shirts in several sizes to ensure the perfect oversize fit with your bump.
Non maternity jeans worn unbuttoned are best. This is something most moms already have in their closet making this an easy look for a maternity photoshoot. If your pre pregnancy jeans no longer fit, try your husbands jeans!
A classic white bra works well with jeans and a white dress shirt, offering options for styling the shirt both buttoned and unbuttoned. A Calvin Klein bra or athletic top are also great options with jeans.
A cropped tee shirt, athletic top or Calvin Klein bra are also all great options for maternity photos with jeans. Wearing the white dress shirt without jeans is another possible variation.
An indoor or studio setting is ideal. My natural light studio provides the perfect private setting and modern white backdrops for this style of maternity photoshoot.
Jeans are a flattering and familiar wardrobe piece that highlights your shape while letting your personality shine. Here’s why they’re such a popular choice:
1. Timeless Style: Denim never goes out of fashion. Jeans add a modern, effortless look that feels authentic and grounded.
2. Body Confidence: Wearing jeans shows off the baby bump and allows for a bare belly without being revealing in areas many moms would prefer to keep covered.
3. Versatility: Jeans can be styled up or down with a variety of tops—think off-the-shoulder sweaters, lacy bralettes, or classic white tees.
4. Emotional Connection: For many moms, jeans are a familiar piece that makes them feel like themselves, even during a transformative time.
